Here’s my B.O.A.T. list where I’ll prove the old acronym, Break Out Another Thousand. There are always things that need to be fixed or upgraded, always things on the wishlist.  I figured it would be a good idea (or maybe not such a good idea…) to track the maintenance and upgrades over time.  The idea is that I’ll keep a wishlist of upgrades, required maintenance, completed maintenance and the cost related to the work.


In-Water Maintenance To-Do

  • Replace original battery compartment with a larger one
  • fix muffler leak
  • Diagnose and fix Jabsco manual head not filling with water/flushing
  • Service cabin top starboard and port winches
  • Clean and lube steering system
  • Replace water pump impeller
  • Clean raw water intake strainer
  • Clean/replace fuel filter

Haul Out Maintenance List (2018)

  • Bottom job
  • Cutlass bearing
  • Anodes
  • Dripless shaft seal

Completed Maintenance and Upgrades

  • 1/13/2017, Pull chain plate covers and seal with butyl tape, ($20)
  • 1/27/2017, Replaced starboard clam cleat with Spinlock XAS clutch ($85)
  • 1/27/2017, Fixed propane locker vent, reconnected hose to through hull ($0)
  • 1/27/2017, repaired dry rotted port bulkhead with Git Rot, ($25)
  • 2/3/2017, fixed loose saloon table bulkhead storage bracket, ($10)
  • 2/5/2017, removed, disassembled, cleaned, lubed primary winches ($30)
  • 2/19/2017, fixed small propane leak at the bottle, ($0)
  • 2/19/2017, fixed starboard port leak ($20)
  • 2/19/2017, installed Trojan T-105 house bank ($250)
